David Gauntlett


The Theorist ive decided to study is David Gauntlett he is Professor of Media and Communications at the School of Media, Arts and Design at the University of Westminster and was voted the uk's number 1* researcher of media 2008.

He is the author of several books on media and identities, and the everyday creative use of digital media. As well as this he has come to produce a website about 'media and identities' Theory.org.uk, and has pioneered the use of creative and visual research methods because of his work he has been globally recognised as a leading media researcher working with the BBC and Tate as well as working with international magazines.

Introduction to media in the online age

In the past media took a lot of time to produce different forms of media using technical video cameras, sound booms etc. Even the web had restrictions when first invented.

Now that technology has a vast array of media things have become easier than ever before and with advancements in the internet, Web 2.0 now learns and remembers every thing you do on the internet form uploading pictures to downloading filesand all at just the click of a button.
