Realism is an aesthetic construct (a created ‘look’) put together by conventions that are agreed upon at any one time. This ‘vision of the future’ was an 80s-based sense of realism but different cultures and contexts produce different forms realism.
Types of Realism
Photo realism - Photos made to look real despite the fact that their not so special effects are use to create their realism.
Actuality - Make it look like actual footage for example a reenactment (Real life events staged)
Realistic Violence - Although the action on camera looks real we know its staged to entice their audience so gore and violence is added for the realism.
That realism can be faked and we should not mistake it for authenticity.
Hyper Reality
A better expression of a thing than its real form.
Creations of avatar like games are hyper real, in other words its more real than reality. People create avatars and because of social restrictions etc it allows people to no longer hide who they are and every thing becomes real.
False reality's are perceived as real.

The social impact of Facebook and YouTube.
When looking at these sites we see a certain way we communicate with each other with snippets and news feeds we come ever more closer with our friends and family and are in formed on every aspect of their life know as Ambient Awareness.
Just because the people you know aren’t next to you it doesn’t mean you aren’t close with these types of social networks people are brought together the further they are apart.
Unlike these social networks YouTube brings something different with its individualism people have become more creative as well as socially interacting with each other through the web with vlogs allowing instead of commenting to give a response face to face from the other side of the world bringing the YouTube community together.
